THE STORY OF A LOVE AFFAIR...
I do not even know how to start telling the story of my song diary, except to say that, truly, it has had many faces, and continues to grow and change, as do I, every day. It is a labor of love and very dear to my heart.
The Song Diary started in 2011, when, for over a year, I wrote a song and made a music video every day, culminating in nearly 400 original songs and music videos that were filmed in the street, in cafés, restaurants, grocery stores, bathtubs, hanging out of windows, on boats, on trams...you name it and probably I did it. It's true, it did indeed start because my heart was broken. And I didn't intend on making it a "project" but I stumbled into a passionate, healing, energetic force that I could not ignore and made me happier than I had ever been in my life up until that point...and so...after awhile, it became a project.

I did the Song Diary again when I was living in California, in 2015, and teaching a class for songwriters. I wanted to encourage them that anyone could write and create every day.
And now, since February 2, 2019, I am doing it a third time! This time, the intent is to work on learning how to record and produce myself, rather than making videos in fun locations, as well as continued creative discovery. There is so much I could say about this process. The joy and healing that comes through creating, the incredible risk and challenge of being vulnerable through art, the discovery and rediscovery of self, of God, of what is possible...these are things that I will definitely be talking about in my podcast, Artists Rising (coming this month!). But for now...I will let the songs speak for themselves. Hope you enjoy.
